Veneta man facing charges following standoff with law enforcement

VENETA, Ore. – A Veneta man is facing charges in connection with a large law enforcement response this week.

Lane County sheriff’s deputies were called to a home near Central Road and Pickens Road around 6:30 a.m. on the morning of July 1. That’s where a neighbor reported hearing two gunshots and a woman yelling for help. Extra officers and an armored vehicle were called in for assistance. The woman was treated for a cut to the arm and a bruise on her cheek but she refused to say what happened. In an affidavit filed in Lane County Circuit Court, detectives say they found evidence of a struggle at the home, including three shell casings, blood, and a broken bathroom door…
