VENETA, Ore. – Lane Fire Authority is calling on residents to join a crucial public meeting on July 15 at Station 101 in Veneta as the Board of Directors will discuss a potential levy renewal and increase for the November ballot to bolster emergency services.
According to Lane Fire Authority, emergency medical services now make up 80% of all calls, with an increase of more than 19% in emergency calls since 2021. Rising costs for staffing and equipment have prompted the district to draw from savings to purchase ambulances.
