Noise complaint sparks pickleball debate in Eugene’s Westmoreland Park

EUGENE, Ore. – Tensions are rising near Westmoreland Park in Eugene as residents demand the closure of the pickleball courts, citing harmful noise disturbances.

The City of Eugene received a cease-and-desist letter from a law firm representing at least 10 residents. The letter claims that the “popping” noise from pickleball paddles is disrupting their enjoyment of their property and affecting their physical and mental health.
