COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. — A 24-year-old Cottage Grove man was arrested Saturday in connection with a string of area break-ins that began in late June, according to the Cottage Grove Police Department.
CPD officials said that police responded to an East Madison Avenue home on June 28 following reports of an intruder. The suspect entered home through an unlocked door but ran away when confronted by the residents’ dog, authorities said. Police said they could not locate the suspect but obtained an image of the suspect captured on the home’s security system. On July 3, police responded to a reported burglary at a Row River Road business where the front glass door was smashed and a vehicle was stolen. The vehicle and other items were later recovered with the assistance of the Lane County Sheriff’s Office, Cottage Grove police said. Police officials said that an image of the suspect captured on the business’s security camera matched that of the previous home break-in incident. When police responded to a disturbance at a Highway 99 restaurant on July 5, they arrested Hal A. Davis for a parole violation, authorities said.
