SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – The Willamette National Forest is set to enforce new fire restrictions beginning July 18 as dry conditions persist.
According to the Willamette National Forest, all open fires will be banned outside designated campgrounds. This includes areas like the Three Sisters and Mt. Jefferson Wilderness.
Campfires are only allowed in metal rings or grills within designated sites, unless the site is closed. Portable stoves and lanterns using bottled fuel are still permitted, while generators can only operate on non-vegetated surfaces.
