EUGENE, Ore. – Eugene Springfield Fire’s water rescue team responded to back-to-back water rescue calls on Tuesday, with no medical transports required.
Crews were first called to the McKenzie River at Armitage just after 6 p.m., where five people were stuck under a bridge following a rafting mishap. All individuals were safely rescued.
Later the same evening, around 8 p.m., the team responded to the Willamette River, where an elderly person was stranded and fatigued in the river. A bystander held them in place until help arrived. The rescue team also found the individual’s partner, who was also exhausted, during the return…
