Eugene’s SDC exemptions aim to aid low-income housing projects

EUGENE, Ore. – The City of Eugene is now accepting applications for exemptions from local system development charges (SDCs) to support affordable housing projects. Applications are due by September 10, city officials said.

According to the City of Eugene, the exemptions target both small single-unit projects and larger multi-unit housing developments. Priority will be given to projects that provide the highest percentage of units for low-income households and those accessible to people with disabilities.

The program supports rental housing for households earning 60% of the area median income (AMI) or below, and homeownership for those earning 80% AMI or below. For fiscal year 2026, $284,954 is available, split evenly between rental and homeownership projects…
