Phone scams have been around for years, but with technology advancements those calls are getting more convincing. New tactics scammers are using could fool even the most cautious people. Eugene mom, Shannon Sanders describes a phone call from a scammer threatening her daughter’s life, or so she thought.
“I get on and it’s a hysterical, you know, young female, it wasn’t making sense. She was crying and just couldn’t understand her. Then a gentleman got on the phone and identified himself as an officer and that he had my daughter and used her first name and that they had to ask her some questions and everything that she’s hysterical,” said Sanders.
