EUGENE, Ore. – Firefighters were able to quickly contain a north Eugene house fire to a single room and attic on Wednesday afternoon, according to Eugene Springfield Fire officials.
ESF authorities said they responded just before 4 p.m. on July 23 to reports of a possible structure fire with smoke visible from the attic of a two-story duplex on Applewood Lane. Responding fire crews arrived and confirmed visible smoke from the roof on the backside of the home and visible fire through the roof and eaves. The initial responding crew attacked the fire from the exterior before the arrival of a second crew that led an interior attack to extinguish the fire.
