I just finished my junior year at UO. I’m registered for 17 credits worth of classes for the fall, and am required to pay thousands of dollars each term. Despite this, this summer I was locked out of the Student Rec Center until I paid more money.
When I first found out that I would have to pay $135 for a summer recreation pass, I almost didn’t believe it. Does my tuition in the fall, winter and spring not cover my use of the gym over the summer? If it costs thousands of dollars to go to school, I should be able to use the facilities year-round.
After further research, I found that the only way you can get a rec pass without paying the fee is if you are taking eight credits of in-person summer classes…
