Lincoln County sting operation nets arrest of two Linn County men

LINCOLN COUNTY, Ore. – The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office recently conducted online child luring investigations to protect vulnerable community members, with a particular emphasis on children.

According to LCSO officials, deputies posed as underage children on social media, leading to the arrest of two men. On July 28, 45-year-old Jimmy Smith of Albany was arrested on charges of luring a minor and second-degree online sexual corruption of a child in the second degree.

Kyle Carter, 34, of Sweet Home, was also arrested on July 29. He traveled to Lincoln County to meet a decoy persona and was charged with luring a minor and first-degree online sexual corruption of a child…
