EUGENE, Ore. — Eugene-Springfield Fire’s response to an abandoned house fire near Hendricks Park on Saturday was slowed due heavy brush and narrow, winding roads, the department said.
It’s a problem commonly faced by firefighters trying to access older, rural neighborhoods in Eugene, Assistant Chief Chris Paskett said.
