A large medical practice in Lane County that’s cut services since a corporate takeover is now closing its OB-GYN department, marking the latest reduction in women’s health care options in Oregon and a new disruption for Eugene-area patients.
Six OB-GYNs are leaving Oregon Medical Group, a formerly physician-owned and led practice. It was taken over in late 2020 by Optum, a for-profit company owned by UnitedHealth Group, one of the largest health care corporations in the country.
