UO student hit while riding bicycle recovering from broken bones, brain injury

A 21-year-old University of Oregon student sustained multiple broken bones and a severe traumatic brain injury after being hit by a car Friday, Aug. 8, while riding her bicycle, according to a friend’s update posted online.

Eugene police on Friday confirmed that Elizabeth Cardenas Figueroa was the bicyclist hit while in a crosswalk near East Eighth Avenue and Hilyard Street.
