LPR helps Eugene police arrest felon in possession of firearm, reckless driving suspect

Eugene, OR – Eugene Police used license plate reader technology to arrest a man accused of menacing another person with a firearm and ramming the victim’s vehicle.

At 11:38 a.m. on August 14, an officer followed up on reports about an incident that occurred the previous day at 3800 Barger Drive. According to reports, a 49-year-old man and 43-year-old Shawn Harold Raymond were arguing when Raymond allegedly pointed a handgun at the victim.

He then pursued the victim’s vehicle, striking it multiple times while driving from Beltline Highway to the 4700 block of Royal Avenue. The dispute continued at that location, during which Raymond reportedly displayed a firearm again…
