Stolen Subaru flagged by Eugene cam leads to two arrests

EUGENE, Ore. — Two suspects were arrested after a license plate reader camera flagged the vehicle they were driving as stolen on Wednesday afternoon, according to the Eugene Police Department.

EPD officials said the LPR cam flagged a stolen Subaru Legacy at 2:08 p.m. on Aug. 20. A patrol officer then spotted the vehicle in the parking lot of the Albertson’s grocery store on Division Avenue, watching from a distance while waiting for backup to arrive. At least two people were seen in the vehicle before it left and traveled southbound on River Road, police said. Eugene police officials said officers followed the vehicle until it parked at a Dollar Tree store on River Road where they stopped and detained the Subaru’s occupants…
