EUGENE, Ore. – The Bethel School District is implementing a new policy banning cell phones, earbuds, and smartwatches during school hours.
This policy applies from the first bell to the final bell, including lunch, recess, and passing periods. According to the district, the ban covers all areas on campus, such as classrooms, hallways, locker rooms, and playgrounds. This move follows Oregon’s Executive Order 25-09, which establishes new rules about personal electronic devices in public schools statewide.
