Evacuation levels lowered after wildfire ignites near Eugene

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Evacuation levels were lowered Wednesday night after a wildfire sprang up near Eugene, authorities said.

According to the Lane County Sheriff’s Office, the Level 3 evacuations for the neighborhood between Dillard Road, Hidden Meadows Drive, Skyhawk Way and Ridge Top Drive in Southeast Eugene were initially lowered to a Level 2 Thursday night, before being moved down to a Level 1 a short while later.

The cause of the fire remains unknown, but authorities said that if conditions worsen, residents will be contacted again to keep them informed.
