Firefighters: 25-acre wildfire sparked by someone driving in dry grass near Sweet Home

SWEET HOME, Ore. — Someone driving a pickup in tall, dry grass sparked a 25-acre wildfire on Monday afternoon just west of Sweet Home, fire officials said.

The fire was reported just after 4 p.m. off of Rice Road in the Holley area, the Sweet Home Fire District said.

The fire grew quickly and was moving toward some homes, so the incident commander called out a second and third alarm response, bringing in crews from Brownsville, Halsey, and Lebanon Fire…
