New evidence leads to dismissal of rape charge; DA cites insufficient proof

EUGENE, Ore. — The Lane County District Attorney has issued a statement regarding the dismissal of a 2024 rape case against Timothy Joel Colnar, which court records state happened Aug. 13.

“Based on new information, the state of the evidence is such that a material element of the crime cannot be proven beyond a reasonable doubt,” court records state as the reason for the dismissal.
