The Springfield Utility Board is investigating reports of a power outage that affected nearly half of the Springfield metropolitan area after a thunderstorm rolled through town on Aug. 27.
According to Zak Gosa-Lewis, spokesperson for the Springfield Utility Board, the power outage was first reported around 10:30 a.m. The outages occurred at the Jasper, Olympic and Gateway substations.
As of 11 a.m., Gosa-Lewis said power was restored to all affected customers. An investigation into what caused the outage is ongoing…
