VENETA, Ore. – A field fire near Pickens Road that prompted a Level 3 (GO NOW) evacuation on Thursday afternoon drew a swift response from Lane Fire Authority, the Oregon Dept. of Forestry and multiple fire agencies.
According to authorities, the fire , reported at about 3:30 p.m. on Aug. 28, threatened outbuildings near a residence, leading to additional resources being called in from multiple fire agencies, including Eugene Springfield Fire and Mohawk Valley Fire. Evacuations were implemented as a precaution, and the fire was brought under control by 5 p.m.
