You couldn’t script a better opener for the Ducks. They were bigger, faster, stronger and more focused, pulverizing the Big Sky Champion Montana State in Autzen Stadium, 59-13.
The Ducks scored the first nine times they got the ball, eight touchdowns and a field goal. Freshman running back Jordon Davison punched in three short touchdowns, using his powerful 235-pound frame to drive through the Bobcat line on scoring runs of 2, 8 and 1 yard.
As the new Oregon starting quarterback Dante Moore was crisp and accurate, reaching the sideline with out routes and zipping slant passes down the seam. He distributed the ball and connected with eight different receivers. He was on time and on the numbers, rarely missing, never putting the ball in harm’s way. Protection was perfect…
