This year marks the Goodyear Blimp’s 100th anniversary. The airship, a staple above sporting events across the country, is celebrating the occasion with an aerial tour of more than 100 cities across the U.S., including Eugene.
The blimp will arrive in Eugene on Thursday, Sept. 4, and depart Sunday. Visitors can watch the airship take off at the Eugene Airport and traverse the skies around the city. The best time to watch should be 9 a.m. to 1:40 p.m. Friday, when the blimp will take off six times, roughly every 40 minutes.
