Lane County businesses urged to join stormdrain program by Oct 31

EUGENE, Ore. – Lane County’s Stormdrain Cleaning Assistance Program (SCAP) is available again this fall, and businesses have until Oct. 31 to register, according to county officials.

The county said that the program is offered in partnership with Stormwater Protection Systems and helps businesses maintain their stormdrains for a flat fee of $70 per drain. More than 580 stormdrains from 182 businesses have been cleaned since the program’s launch in 2023. Regular stormdrain maintenance is crucial for preventing pollutants from entering local waterways, reducing flooding, and protecting the environment.
