MCKENZIE BRIDGE, Ore. – The Foley Ridge Fire has expanded to 468 acres, with most activity on the western flank, spreading laterally down the canyon along Foley Ridge, according to the Willamette National Forest.
Forest officials said that crews are actively working to secure the eastern flank and extinguish hot spots along the containment line. The closure of Highway 242 has enhanced access for heavy equipment, aiding efforts along the northern boundary. The Lane County Sheriff’s Office has issued Level 2 evacuation notices for Highway 242, Yale Camp, White Branch Youth Camp, Alder Spring Campground, Scott Lake Campground, and nearby private residences. Willamette National Forest has expanded the closure area, affecting several roads, campgrounds, and trailheads, including Foley Ridge Road.
