MCKENZIE BRIDGE: The Foley Ridge Fire is now 40% contained, with minimal fire activity reported across most of the area. Fire behavior has been limited to creeping, smoldering, and backing, though hotter and drier weather is expected in the coming days and could increase activity. The Central Oregon Type 3 Incident Management Team 1 is preparing to transfer command to Nevada Team 4 on Wednesday, September 24. Members of the incoming team have been fully briefed and are shadowing Nevada Team 4 during today’s operational period to ensure a smooth transition.
Ground crews continue to engage the fire directly on all flanks where conditions allow. Their work includes clearing ladder and ground fuels, constructing handlines, and installing water delivery systems to support mop-up operations.
