Foley Ridge Fire 46% contained as crews make progress

Fire officials working the Foley Ridge Fire, burning east of Springfield, is currently 46% contained, with stable conditions and low-intensity fire behavior.

Crews have made significant progress, particularly south of Highway 242, where they have been digging handlines and using equipment to aid mop-up operations.

Efforts to patrol containment lines on the south side of the fire are ongoing to ensure security. Work on a shaded fuel break along the north side of Foley Ridge Road has begun and is expected to continue for about another week, with additional equipment and a hand crew arriving Friday to assist.
