Joel Klatt Says Dan Lanning Has Built Oregon Into a True National Title Threat

Oregon wasn’t supposed to be this good yet. At least not this soon.

The Ducks entered 2025 with plenty of questions after replacing four starting offensive linemen and filling holes with transfers and underclassmen across the field. But through five weeks, Joel Klatt says one thing is clear: Dan Lanning hasn’t just steadied Oregon, he’s built a roster capable of winning it all.

“This was supposed to be a year that Dan Lanning was rebuilding a little bit,” Klatt said Monday on “The Joel Klatt Show.” “They had to replace so much. And they have come out and melded early into one of the best teams in college football. This is not a program where Dan Lanning entered the fray and said, ‘Okay, how do we win the Pac-12?’ He went there to build them into a national title contender, and that’s exactly what he’s done.”…
