Springfield cafe among closed Starbucks locations

A Starbucks cafe on Pioneer Parkway in Springfield closed for good on Sunday, Sept. 28, three days after the company’s chief executive announced it would close 1% of its North American stores.

It was unclear how many employees worked at the location at 1810 Pioneer Parkway West. A Starbucks spokesperson told Lookout Eugene-Springfield she didn’t have information to share on individual locations. She referred a reporter to a message to Starbucks staff from CEO Brian Niccol announcing plans to close underperforming stores.

By Wednesday, Starbucks signage was gone from the building and brown paper hung in the windows.
