The State of Oregon has officially adopted the 2025 Oregon Fire Code (OFC) under ORS 476.030, with statewide administration led by the Oregon Department of the State Fire Marshal (ODSF). The new edition, based on the 2024 International Fire Code, went into effect October 1, 2025.
Locally, the Community Risk Reduction & Resilience Division of Eugene Springfield Fire (ESF) is now initiating the process to adopt the 2025 OFC for both Eugene and Springfield. This process includes updating local amendments to align with current practices and community needs.
