Man ‘swept up’ in execution of search warrant seeks release from ICE

A Lane County resident “swept up along with others” when authorities executed a search warrant Wednesday, Oct. 15, is asking for his release from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention, court documents state.

It’s unclear if the man’s detention took place as part of FBI activity early on Wednesday in Eugene, but the petition filed Wednesday in federal court described him as in ICE custody in Eugene. A filing later that day by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for Oregon stated he was removed from the state at approximately 2:50 p.m. Wednesday and was being held in Tacoma, Washington, at the Northwest ICE Processing Center…
