Eugene police probe burglary linked to crime ring targeting Asian community

EUGENE, Ore. — The Eugene Police Department is investigating a residential burglary in southwest Eugene that bears similarity to a pattern of cases involving targeted theft from members of the Asian community.

A call reporting a burglary in southwest Eugene was received Tuesday, Oct. 21. Initial reports have been documented, and detectives and the crime lab were dispatched to the scene. EPD says detectives are actively pursuing leads and coordinating with other law enforcement partners as the investigation progresses.

Since late 2023, more than 22 burglaries with similar characteristics have been identified. EPD made six arrests in June 2024 related to these cases, made arrests involving seven additional individuals earlier this month.
