Federal agents detain recently released inmates from Lane County Jail

LANE COUNTY, Ore. — A security sergeant at the Lane County Jail reportedly observed a disturbance in the lobby via facility cameras on Oct. 15, 2025, just after 5 p.m., according to the Lane County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO).

LCSO said in a statement that the incident involved an adult in custody (AIC) who had recently been released.

After a short scuffle near the lobby doors, an AIC we had recently released looked to be in handcuffs and was escorted out the front doors with two people trailing him. One wearing a ballistic vest that looked to read, “POLICE Federal Agent” and another person in plain clothes…
