Oregon schools to implement cellphone ban policies as deadline approaches

EUGENE, Ore. — The deadline for all K-12 school districts in Oregon to establish cellphone ban policies is just two days away (Oct. 31), and educators we spoke with say when those policies go into effect, it will be a boon for students.

Governor Tina Kotek signed an executive order back in July requiring all Oregon public school students to have their phones put away from the ring of the first bell of the day to the last one in the afternoon.
