EUGENE, Ore. – A Eugene woman has been sentenced to nearly five years in prison for embezzling more than half a million dollars from a local housing agency, according to the Lane County District Attorney’s Office.
According to Lane County District Attorney Christopher Parosa, Miranda Renee Wilcox has been sentenced to 55 months in prison for embezzling more than half a million dollars from Homes for Good, a Lane County housing agency.
According to the Lane County Circuit Court, Wilcox also faces 24 months of post-prison supervision. Wilcox pled guilty to six counts of aggravated theft in the first degree. In exchange for her plea, the state dismissed 21 counts of identity theft. Homes for Good appointed Wilcox as the finance department manager in Sept. 2015. She began inflating her wages in early 2022 through fraudulent reimbursement payments and overtime. Wilcox created a bank account at a local credit union specifically for theft.
