Eugene police release Flock camera locations following city council’s decision to pause

EUGENE, Ore. — The Eugene Police Department (EPD) has decided to publish a map of Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) camera locations in the city, also known as Flock Cameras, following a pause in their use and community concerns.

The decision comes after the Eugene City Council recommended halting the use of the recently installed Flock cameras on Oct. 14.

“With the cameras no longer active the Eugene Police Department has determined that, on balance, withholding their locations is no longer necessary to prevent potential criminal mischief nor to avoid aiding suspects by evading detection,” said Eugene PD in a press release.
