Reporter Ben Botkin got his hands on an internal report from Oregon State Hospital after the death of Lane County resident Kenneth Hass, and the details are tough to read. Staffers who advocated to improve conditions for Hass met resistance from their colleagues before his death, the confidential report found.
A Eugene attorney said she had no access to detainees after Nov. 5 ICE arrests in Lane County. The declaration is part of a larger court case. Advocates are seeking a judge’s order to force ICE offices throughout the state to provide attorneys access to detainees. Jaime Adame reports…
