EUGENE, Ore. – A 40-year-old Eugene man has been booked into the Lane County Jail following an incident last week involving a shotgun in the Whiteaker neighborhood, according to documents filed in Lane County Circuit Court.
According to court records, the suspect, identified as Tyler James Johnson, faces charges of unlawful use of a weapon and menacing. On the afternoon of Nov. 12, callers reported a man allegedly pointing a shotgun at people on the 1400 block of Railroad Boulevard. Eugene police responded, and the suspect was shot. Johnson has a history of confrontations with law enforcement, as last month in Lincoln County, he allegedly bit, spit on, and kicked officers after crashing his van into a flower bed and blocking a shopping center entrance. Johnson was reportedly suspected of being intoxicated and, following his arrest, Johnson refused to leave a hospital room, leading to another altercation with police, court documents show.l…
