License plate readers speed up stolen car recovery in Eugene

EUGENE, Ore. – Eugene’s automated license plate readers (ALPRs) are making a significant impact on recovering stolen vehicles, according to the Eugene Police Department.

EPD officials said that these devices have reduced recovery times by 30%, bringing the average down to 15.3 hours.
