EUGENE, Ore. — A series of targeted burglaries against Asian American residents has left Lane County families fearful, and raised concerns about whether Oregon’s bail laws can keep organized criminals in custody.
Since mid-2024, police in Eugene, Springfield, and nearby counties have linked at least five burglary sprees to what investigators believe is a coordinated, multi-state criminal network.
