SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — This week, residents of Springfield and surrounding communities of different ages and backgrounds urged the city to call a state of emergency over ICE activity in the city — showing up at city council to speak out over their fears.
Relatives of people of color, some through tears, accused ICE of picking up and deporting people in the area without due process.
