Missing elderly woman drowning in pond saved by Oregon authorities

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A missing, elderly woman was saved from drowning in a Eugene pond on Saturday, the Lane County Sheriff’s Office announced.

Around 10 a.m., LCSO officials say they received a report of a missing elderly woman who had driven away from her home near Eugene and then wandered away from her vehicle off of Clear Lake Road.

Search & Rescue volunteers, plus multiple drones and tracking K9s, arrived to assist with the search.

“A deputy canvassing the area observed the missing female on a resident’s security camera in the area of Kirk Pond. Searchers focused their efforts on the thick brush,” authorities said…
