Pacific Northwest Weather Alert: Atmospheric River Brings Flooding Threat to Oregon Through Thursday

Windshield wipers are working overtime across western Oregon this morning as sheets of steady rain continue to fall. The air feels thick and damp, and water already pools along curbs and low-lying stretches of I-5. Forecasters say this is just the beginning — more rain is on the way.

According to the National Weather Service in Portland, a Flood Watch remains in effect through late Thursday night for most of western Oregon, including the Willamette Valley, the Coast Range, and portions of southwest Washington. Between 2.5 and 5 inches of rain are expected across the Eugene area, with up to 6–12 inches possible in higher Cascade and Coast Range elevations…
