EUGENE, Ore. — A man who was stabbed in downtown Eugene earlier this month has died of his injuries, according to the Eugene Police Department.
EPD officials said they responded at about 10 p.m. on Dec. 2 to a stabbing in the area of Oak Alley and East 10th Avenue. Callers reported an incident in which a man was attacking another man in an alley before fleeing toward Willamette Street, police officials said. Authorities said that responding officers provided emergency aid to the victim, identified as 42-year-old Douglas Eugene Beinhauer, who later died of his injuries.
Police arrested a suspect, identified as 38-year-old Joshua Margarito Saldivar, on Dec. 5 without incident in the 1300 block of West 17th Avenue, authorities said.
