Volunteers aid in Eugene food box distribution at St. Vincent de Paul

EUGENE, Ore. – St. Vincent de Paul distributed approximately 2,000 food boxes to families in need over the weekend. These boxes included turkey, ham, and all the fixings.

Parents and students from O’Hara Catholic School and Marist High School volunteered to help with the distribution. According to St. Vincent de Paul, their recent “roundup program” helped fund the food, alongside donations from local Catholic parishes.

“So we’ve been doing a roundup program for the last two months and it raised all the money so we were able to purchase a lot of the food. And then area churches donate food. A lot of the Catholic parishes around here donate food. So all that together is what we’re able to put into the boxes,” said Darrel Kau, community relations director for St. Vincent de Paul…
