SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — Springfield City Councilor Beth Blackwell has submitted her resignation from her position representing Ward 4 on the Springfield City Council. Her resignation is effective December 31, 2025, the City of Springfield said in a media release.
Appointed in April 2023 and recently re-elected for a full term beginning in January 2025, Councilor Blackwell cited the increasing difficulty of balancing her personal and professional responsibilities with the time and energy required to serve in this volunteer leadership role.
“While it has truly been an honor to represent the Springfield community, I believe stepping down at this time is the most responsible decision so that the position may continue to receive the full attention it deserves,” said Councilor Blackwell. “I remain deeply appreciative of the dedication, professionalism, and collaboration shown by the Council, City leadership, and staff. Serving alongside you and supporting the work being done on behalf of our community has been a privilege.”…
