Philomath High’s girls wrestling team brought home five medals from the Phil Smith Memorial Invitational at Junction City Friday, including three Warriors placing third.
Rielly Ellingsen, Sarah Robertson and Makinzey Harrington all finished third in their respective weight classes to lead Philomath’s medal haul.
Ellingsen, freshman, went 3-1 at 120 pounds with three wins by pin. She opened with a pin of Marshfield’s Marissa Hedrick before falling in the semifinals to St. Helens’ Khloe Anderson. Ellingsen bounced back to win her final two matches by pin, defeating Willamette’s Madilynn Greer in the consolation semifinals and Cottage Grove’s Jaylee Tripp in the third-place match…
