Eugene Mayor Kaarin Knudson reflects on first year in office

One year has elapsed since Mayor Kaarin Knudson became Eugene’s 40th mayor. Since she was officially sworn in on Jan. 6, 2025, Knudson has already achieved many accomplishments and laid the groundwork for many projects that will continue as she enters year two of her mayoralty.

Her inaugural state of the city address, nearly one year ago on Jan. 13, 2025, introduced many goals and issues that she looked to address during her first year in office.

Now, after her first official year as the mayor of Eugene, Knudson reflected on a year that delivered promising results while she looks ahead to her next chapter in 2026.

Closing the budget gap
