EUGENE, Ore. – A high-speed chase in Eugene ended with the arrest of a woman early on Wednesday, according to the Lane County Sheriff’s Office.
LCSO officials said that a deputy observed a vehicle at about 3 a.m. on Jan. 7 speeding on Irving Road at over 60 miles per hour in a 35-mile-per-hour zone. The driver, identified as 30-year-old Racheal Anne Katlyn Obert of Oakridge, led deputies on a chase reaching speeds over 100 miles per hour, sheriff’s officials said.
Deputies coordinated with Junction City Police to deploy spikes on Prairie Road and Milliron Road. Authorities said that the vehicle’s tires deflated after running over the spikes, and Obert jumped out while it was still moving. The vehicle ended up in a ditch and Obert was detained.
